I have never played a Yames game before, but I got to say this first one leaves a strong impression. The gameplay is simple, the game is only about 30 minutes long to play and it's brimming with atmosphere. Easily punching above it's weight class in terms of quality to quantity. The game doesn't have much in the way of challenge, you basically just move forward and backward while looking left and right with limited actions. The only real skill in the game is catching fish, but that's just a reaction time mechanic. Either you click the net fast enough before the fish disappears, or you need to shuffle around the tiles to find it again... you aren't really solving a puzzle either, you catch or find the thing and then you get lore around said objects. The lore and plot are compelling though and peak cosmic and body horror. The art direction and sound scape certainly are callbacks to 80s/90s point and click adventure, yet with a cursed/analog horror vibe to the whole thing. If that sounds at least slightly interesting, it's worth checking this out. Especially since it is free.
