Ever since Theme Hospital came out, no note-worthy games would appear to pass the torch of isometric hospital management for the following 2 decades... That changed when Two Point Hospital was released in 2018. And one year later, Tavern Tycoon was released after its early access period.
Tavern Tycoon is definitely following the formula of Theme Hospital, though obvious to the name, it's for managing a tavern in a fantasy setting and with a similar dose of humor. Be as it may, I've only played through 2 levels to decide that Tavern Tycoon already lost its freshness. The humor works in its fantasy fashion but otherwise, it's pretty boring to see the people going about their business in the tavern drinking, resting and training.
Tavern Tycoon could have been a worthy cornerstone in the aftermath of the hospital management, for gamers who want the itch scratched through a spiritual successor with a fantasy twist. However, the game design and the execution is lacking too much for me to stick around with. Don't count on future updates coming, since the community has noticed that the dev hasn't come back to this for years. It might be a winner or a dud …

It might be a winner or a dud for you, so try it out only before you decide to keep it or not. There's yet to be a worthy peer to go alongside with Two Point Hospital, in my opinion.
