Crüe Ball is a 1992 pinball video game. It is themed to glam metal band Mötley Crüe, it features three of their songs: "Dr. Feelgood," "Live Wire," and "Home Sweet Home." It features nine levels which are partitioned into three sections: a bottom, middle and top area. Players must smash a wall behind a floating head named Craig which will in turn "crank it up" which leads the player into the next level. The final boss of the game is the evil Mr. Gore, who can only be defeated by shooting three balls into his mouth.

Nicely grooved pinball action

Platform:

Genesis version.

Graphics/Sound:

I don't think this looks quite as unique as Devil's Crush, but it certainly draws some ideas from it. I like all the metal/rock references. One of the strong points: The Mötley Crüe soundrack played through the Genesis sound chip is extremely cool and makes this pinball game even more enjoyable.

Gameplay:

The formula is basically taken from things like Alien Crush and Devil's Crush. You have several layers of flippers on this table, and you can work yourself up to the highest layer, where some kind of "boss" headbanger flies around. There is a few headbanger monsters walking around on the table that you can explode with the ball. It's all cool and easy to understand, you always know where to aim your shots.

Difficulty:

The difficulty is very decent and fair here, I can't remember a single unfair death while playing this, which is usually something very common in pinball games. So in turn the length of one 3-ball-round is quite nice, not feeling too short, I would say on average a little longer than usual pinball games. The physics also work well, and never seemed to glitch out.

Conclusion:

It's a great solid …

Conclusion:

It's a great solid pinball game with an awesome metal theme. I like how it adds things not possible on a real pinball machine, like Devil's Crush does. And that's exactly the crowd I would recommend it to: If you liked Devil's Crush, you will most certainly like this one too.
