Turok is a first-person shooter developed by Propaganda Games, and published by Touchstone Games and Disney Interactive Studios, originally for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in February 2008. It was later ported on to Microsoft Windows in April 2008. A sequel was planned and developed for the Xbox 360 but it was cancelled before it was even officially announced. The game is loosely based on the comic book series of the same title and is unrelated to the story and setting of previous Turok video games. Players assume the role of Native American space marine Joseph Turok, who is part of a team sent to a remote planet to apprehend his previous commanding officer, General Roland Kane, now a wanted war criminal. After crash landing, Turok discovers this planet is home to all manner of dinosaurs, and must fight both the predatory creatures and Kane's private army on his mission to take down his former mentor. A decent American movie
This review is for the PlayStation 3 version

I would recommend to read what I'm gonna say if you are interested in this game, even if I gave it 2 stars. I have reasons to do that, but it's not really an unplayable game or anything.

The game is more or less what anyone could expect from it: a linear, simple shooter with a story about American soldiers against a dangerous enemy. Nothing new, actually.

The plot is... actually decent. It's like those American action movies that tell you what you have watched tons of times, but turn out to be entertaining and solid enough. The plot is simple, yet solid. You are Turok, you are on a dangerous planet with dinosaurs and you have to kill the bad guy. But there are multiple situations, some plotwists and even character development. It's pretty basic, but it works.

The gameplay is as basic as it could be. A shooter as you have watched tons of times, with some flaws. Do you want that? Well, then you maybe like this one. It could be a better shooter, without a doubt, but it's not that bad, so if you are a shooters fan you can enjoy this one. Some flaws were …

It could be a better shooter, without a doubt, but it's not that bad, so if you are a shooters fan you can enjoy this one. Some flaws were annoying to me, such as enemies killing you too fast in some areas, or some checkpoints (I really had a problem with one of these), but I can't say they are awful flaws.

So this one is as basic as you can expect, but if you are into it, it can be an enjoyable linear adventure.

Played this back in the day and I’ve tried to replay today. Holy fuck I forgot how terrible this game is. Gunplay is atrocious, aiming is abysmal and seeing how the dinosaurs move like the Flash on cocaine you can’t hit a single thing. Screw this game
