John Wick Hex is the first John Wick PC/console game inspired by Lionsgate’s hit action franchise. From acclaimed Game Director, Mike Bithell (Volume, Thomas Was Alone, Subsurface Circular), John Wick Hex is a fast-paced, action-oriented strategy game that makes you think and strike like the professional hitman. Created in close cooperation with the creative teams behind the films, John Wick Hex is fight-choreographed chess brought to life as a video game, capturing the series’ signature gun fu style while expanding its story universe. Players must choose every action and attack they make, while considering their immediate cost and consequences. Every move in John Wick Hex feels like a scene from the movies, and every fight contributes to your progress on the job and requires precise strategic thinking. Perform well and progress in the main story mode (which features an original story created for the game) to unlock new weapons, suit options and locations. Each weapon changes up the tactics you’ll use and the manner in which you’ll play. Ammo is finite and realistically simulated, so time your reloads and make the most of weapons you scavenge on the job. Less

Not the John Wick people dreamed, but a solid and original game.

Each time I died, the game crashed. At first I thought it was an error, then, after it had happened three times in a row, I thought it had to be a feature, something like: "If you die you don't deserve to be John Wick, so get the hell out of here", and thought it was super cool, then it stopped happening and instead the game crashed at random instances such as moments after finishing a level, and I finally realized it wasn't a feature but a mediocre Switch port.

The game itself is fun and many of the bad reviews it got were from people expecting a first person triple A shooter being disappointed by the existence of a small indie strategy John Wick game, but the truth is, that when the game works, like when it really works, the game truly makes you feel like Spiderman John Wick, but in many moments you feel more like a fool moving around avoiding combat. Melee combat in particular is completely broken since enemies won't attack while you are attacking, so you can be surrounded by four enemies and defeat them one by one without being attacked.

Overtall, the game is quite fun, but also slightly flawed and may get a little bit repetitive (it probably could have been a shorter experience), but still recommended if you like action-strategy games or you played Volume also by Mike Bithell Games and wished you could destroy the robots instead of hiding from them.

John Wick Hex is being delisted from all stores on 17 July

It’s currently in sale on Humble for anyone who wants a Steam code before it’s delisted.

This looks like it plays a lot like Bithell's Volume. I wonder if it will feel similar. I like Bithell's games, and I did enjoy Volume, but I don't know if I want more Volume, albeit with more gunfire.

Got this for so cheap in that Epic sale that took £10 off preorders. Excited to finally play it in half an hour!
