The combat in Slash of Sword 2 is really a blast. It’s difficult, but not too difficult. It rarely feels unfair too which is good. Taking down multiple enemies while you are a single swordsman can feel incredibly satisfying. I enjoyed my time around the town of Firestune as well. Getting to know the locals and how things operate with the arena was interesting to me. The translation was awful, but I was able to look past that because it was still fun.

Where the game lost me and ultimately I decided I couldn’t finish this one is the monetization. I can remove adds. I can buy armor. I can buy health packs. This is all well and good but I still end up dying in battle and then either have to spend more money on health packs or watch adds to continue on. And you never want to spend any of your in game money to heal up after a fight because it is so rare you want to save it up for your next armor or weapon.

This is a game I really wanted to finish because I did end up really enjoying the gameplay and the small, but open world that it had. I was getting really into it. I just don’t wanna watch all these commercials just to continue to play the game. Wish I could just drop $5-10 on this so I could play it like a normal action rpg.
