Final thoughts: OutRunners felt like a massive improvement over OutRun to me. This is easily the best looking 90's arcade racer to me as it still retains the 2D sprite style, as I feel many other game's early 3D polygon style really doesn't age well. Not to mention the track segments have great visual variety, with the biggest example to me being the Australia part where the backdrop transitions from Sydney to the Outback in the same segment! This game even features 10 different end goals compared to the usual 5. The soundtrack is still amazing, with new arrangements of all of the original songs (even Last Wave), and cool new compositions that are unfortunately forgotten even further than Turbo OutRun's soundtrack.

Gameplay-wise, this game feels much more accessible than the original OutRun, though it's still arcade hard & unforgiving. Turns are much easier to make as now your car drifts if you turn sharp enough. The game has a much longer draw distance too so it's easier to anticipate turns, but you're still going to have to replay the routes several times to memorize the tricky hill turns.

The biggest downside is that this game somehow was never ported to another console outside of the terrible Genesis port (Really, forced splitscreen on single player?!). This is one game that is really in need of a modernized port, especially considering no licensed cars are directly used here.
