Very Adventure-Derivative
This review is for the Apple II version

Look: 6/10 Isn't this a bit tired even for 1981? (Yeah, I know I only gave Adventure vibes a year, but...) I mean, I give it some credit for that classic Atari color vibe.

Play: 8/10 Verrrrrry Adventure-influenced. Ugh, uff, return of the a=up and z=down yet left=left and right=right thing. That must've been an Apple II thing. And considering how much I've generally loved Apple II games, I might as well get over it. And hey, you know I always love a game that allows difficulty selection. Let's start with easy, right? :-p Oh, and pro-tip, you'll likely be needing this: chrome-extension://efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj/viewer.html?pdfurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.apple.asimov.net%2Fimages%2Fgames%2Faction%2FCopts%2520and%2520Robbers%2520Manual.pdf&clen=901046&chunk=true

Oooo, I love love love that you can reset the controls. That is critical, and as far as I know, one of the first games to allow that deliberately/explicitly-in-the-manual!

Plus, I mean... enter image description here

Feel: 7/10 To many, this is probly seen as one of the first action-adventures: it's influenced by Adventure and has more action elements, right? But I dunno, as someone who has played a lot of text adventures, I like more so the Minotaur, Fantasy, Action Quest roots of action-adventure than Adventure and this.

Attachment: 6/10 As decent as it was, there are just too many other, more unique and exciting action-adventure games. I mean, just play Adventure. This is so derivative of that, you might as well just consider it another one of the difficulty options on Adventure ;) Borderline boring tbh. All that criticism being said, it still was a good early action-adventure game.
