I've been playing this on emudeck and everything had been working fine until I got to the light switch puzzle, I just can't manage to get it to work.

Not enough words can describe the power of the narrative of this game. I have played it before, I am playing it again to better savour the story. Check this masterpiece out.

Okay, funny story. I'm playing Hotel Dusk for the first time, but I was playing it on my 3DS. I've played other DS games on my 3DS without issue. I had a lot of frustrating moments with the controls being a bit particular for my liking, but I continued through. Then I got to a part of the game where I apparently didn't have the item I needed. The workaround was, according to lots of answers, to tilt the screen to see the hidden text. I tilted the screen in every way imaginable. Tried closing the lid, as mentioned. Tried turning out lights in my room just to see if that would help somehow. Nothing worked. Finally, I wondered, was there something about the 3DS that was getting in my way? Luckily, I still had my old DS Lite lying around, so I tried loading up my game there. And when I titled the screen... there was the number. It made me think that some of my other frustrations with game puzzles might have been alleviated by playing the game on the intended console. Also, the game looks a lot better on the DS! Sooo... if you're looking to go back and play Hotel Dusk, play it on a DS. Or you know, make sure you get the blacklight before you go to the basement. Haha.
