Lies of P Overture is very close to a full game in scope, and exceptional in content
There is a qualitative jump from the base game to the expansion. The visuals, environmental design, mechanics, level design, weapon design, and boss design are incredible.

The base game is by no means bad, but it is somewhat repetitive and walking well tread ground. The DLC provides meaningful injection of lore into the main game, and I could not imagine playing the base game without the DLC.
