Pleasant Surprise--Great Look And Sound Bolster This Brawler
This review is for the Arcade version

Preliminary: I really struggle with enjoying isometric games. But this has such good music, such a cute concept, such a good Look, full of neat ideas, I love the finger magic type situation, and the melee swipe etc etc. So far, it is definitely one of the best early brawlers I've played so far. But it is still an isometric game. And brawlers still are just not my preferred genre. This'll likely get an honorary 3. It's really hard, clearly a coin eater, and meant to be played with others. It definitely could have used more power-ups besides the robot. But I noticed that there seem to only be 4 rounds? And I'm already on the 3rd. So I may play through it instead of just giving an honorary 3 for the Michael Jackson ties and music and Look. (Oh wait there are 5 rounds...)

Oh dang the Magic... uh Dance situation thing magic move is really powerful. And it's funny how much it uses the high pitched squeals

The isometric angling for shooting continues to be a frustration but hey, we have a move where you can make every sprite dance and then you kill em all, so I …

Yessss my favorite Michael Jackson song for the ending (Billie Jean) and Michael himself did the game concept etc. Nice. This really was very high quality for a game that a celebrity wanted made/licensed about their movie. And tho it's not a favorite genre of mine, this really shines among brawlers, especially an isometric one! Surprised it was achieved well. enter image description here

Look: 8.5/10 Consistently interesting and fun.

Sound: 9/10 Also very consistent.

Play: 7.5/10 Never a favorite genre of mine, plus the usual coin eating antics, but I had fun thanks to the brevity and the good Look and Sound. Plus, with 2 others, and free play, this would be a blast cuz who cares if you keep dying :-p

Feel: 8/10 Nice little surprise tonight.

Attachment: 8/10 I'd like to play this with my husband some day. This really could've been a 5 star if it weren't isometric (or if I didn't mind that as much) and if the Play were a tad bit better. But don't let that deter you: this is a very solid brawler.

Overall: 8.2/10

Completion: All 5 Rounds

Playtime: ~30 mins

Fun beat 'em up game. Played with Jason at Starfighters Arcade. Even though this is a beat 'em up, none of the enemies actually dies. They just get launched off screen. We beat the game in about 15 to 20 minutes with free play.
