It has a very Jagged alliance 2 feel, with the whole crawling across the map sector by sector (as well as individual sector flavor themselves) in some ways it almost feeels like super smash bros with guns.
the game engine enhances the whole 'wreck it ralph' conception. Blowing stuff up in this game is so much FUN. however, the game creaks under its own code all the time. it slows down when cave ins occur. It's hardly playable. Your save game fil builds by each sector as it writes (i'm assuming) every little detail of the objects and debris in them. the game is bound to break down and crash at some point in a map if you hang around too long.
Save games are technically not allowed, combining elements of rogue here, while at the same time a tactical squad combat sim. the unit roles are freeform and you can pick and mix up what you like, the gear can improve but many times there are mere trade offs (this too is very rogue-like)crossbows are a solid choice if you want stealth, but guns can do more damage. my favorite was definitely the bombs, and melee is practical. the …

Nothing quite like slamming an enemy with a sword swing and then pushing him through a wall or boulder for extra damage, only to have the roof cave in or the tree his back went through topple on top of him to finish the job! how about a guard tower, blasting it off it's legs with the guard coming crashing down to take out another guard next to said tower? There are so many situational type events that you can make happen. However this is best with explosives, and this is where ACCIDENTS happen, being a rogue like/iron man mode game with limited save ability this is a real frisky combo!

Still, there are some ways to scum/cheat more and the game is a good time and deserves some praise for the beauty of combining so many clever ideas together. If you love chaotic games with terrain destruction, and like the thought of that being a strategic element for a TBT type game, this is worth looking at.
despite the roguelike elements and randomized world creation... There really is limited replay value here, and the game gets a bit bland after some time. there are enough modes of dishing out combat, and 4 different 'worlds' within it each with their own theme to keep on occupied for a few hours if not days at least.
So bad it's good: Explosives and terrain destruction is buggy as hell but that makes it intersting. Sometimes stuff will glitch out a bit and explode, bouncing out of a debris pile as well. Rogue like aspects and squad peramdeath always keeps you on your toes and keeps you mixing it up between having fun/experimenting with bombs and playing super careful
the music in this is a top notch soundtrack that i dare say is very similiar to something like a minecraft or aphex twin (selected ambient works)
despite the blocky and childish appearance of the screens, some aspects of this are real impressive. i am unsure what i saw that convinced me to give it a try but i had a feeling there was something intersting about this game. glad i did as i had fun playing it.
one thing i loved to do was set up time bombs around forts and give myself time to demolish the whole damn thing. This is best down after the whole place is cleared out except for the 'lair' area. This really strains the game engine to the max. The game is worthy of a remake or something. A fun place to mess around and goof off but a bit constrained in terms of what you can get away with due to balance/difficulty/etc.

Guys, i think this is the wrong hotel. Lets keep moving....
