The Climb 2 was a different game than I expected.
I thought it was meant to be a big adventure where you climb to go on with the "story", but what I got is a game that if just a collection of levels, and honestly not even that much.
Putting this initial delusion aside, the game is not bad at all, for what it is, that is an arcade experience.

The climbing works well, it feels responsive and makes u want to go fast to the top.
I like the micro management with the stamina and the chalk mechanic, because it keeps you focused and makes the climb more challenging.
I also think that the snap on the "grip points" makes it feel more polished and fluid.
I liked that it includes different kinds of grip points, like the "breakable" ones, or the "rope way", it helped making it feel fresh.
I also liked the interactive things like the snake that u have to avoid, even though there are really few of them.

It's also a sort of workout for your arms, especially if you try to go fast, that is the way I liked it since it made it more interesting for me (not like a speedrunner but without waiting too long between grips).

What I didn't really like is the art style. It feels very low res, and the background images are really meh.
The level I liked more is the city one, since it looks better because the models for the building are cleaner, and also the background is modeled.

Besides the main levels, my real true love are the freestyle ones.
The visual style there is really good, I like the abstract feeling and it feels polished.
The levels are short, but very well built around the idea that u have to make it without failing, otherwise u start from scratch.
It made me connect with the levels more since I was learning and going through them again and again.
I think that having big levels is also a good thing, I just happened to like these one more (visual really helped).

Overall, I had fun with it and is a cool way to have a small break in VR, spending 10 minutes to do one of the levels.
But it's not nearly as good as what I expected, both as the way the experience is put together and in visual quality (played on Oculus Quest 1 and I've seen way better games on it).
Besides, the price should really be lower, because 30 dollars for this set the expectation bar high especially when there are other games that offer a more polished experience for less.
