Pretty solid mini Metroidvania

I had low expectations going into Sealed Bite, I couldn’t even remember where I’d discovered it and it just looked like a typical itch.io game… but it is surprisingly polished and well designed. Everything from the art and animation to the gameplay and level design - it all feels time-tested and refined.

The story has you go collect 3 crystals in different biomes to save your family. The combat is a little different, you basically have an Ori style bash where time stands still as you aim and then dash-attack at enemies. This ability takes center stage for the platforming as well, along with the standard abilities you get such as double jump and wall climb.

That said, it’s nothing too special. It’s about 1.5-2 hours in length and quite linear. I had a good time with it, but it feels like a short itch.io Ori ripoff in some ways. That just as much high praise as it is dismissive, so I would recommend it if you want a short Metroidvania-lite to kill an afternoon.

6.8/10
