Tiny Wings is a game I’ve played before. Long ago on an iPod, before iPhones where everywhere and everyone had one. I didn’t play it much, as I didn’t carry my iPod with me everywhere, but with this re-release on Apple Arcade I’ve had the pleasure to go back and play again.

I’ve collected 29/30 of the achievements and have enjoyed almost every second I’ve played on this game. It’s simple gameplay mechanics of pressing down to hit a slope perfectly and letting go to let your little birdie fly away and fly free until you try to time that little guys descent perfectly all over again. It’s a high score chasing game, but with the addition of achievements it gave me something else to try for which gave a lot of extra enjoyment.

There is also islands where a squad of birds race together and you try and beat them all to the nest for sleepy sleep time. Another great addition to the game that I don’t remember being there from before. An extra challenge to complete or another excuse to play more and it’s a worthy addition.

While this game is beyond simple with its one touch controls it has enormous enjoyment factor. These games that are simple to learn and hard to master are great. You can easily play this game for 2 minutes or get lost in it for 2 hours. I’ve done both. This game is definitely worth a look for those that love quick pick up and play.
