Short, Sweet, Fun -- A Breath Of Fresh Air For An Often-Wordy And RNG-Based Genre

Play: 8/10 Even though I like the world of Alice in Wonderland, largely thanks to the Disney movie and Kingdom Hearts, I thought there was no way I was going to play through this--text adventures just don't seem as pertinent now as I go into 87 and I have all the JRPGs and action-adventures and platformers and shmups to play! There aren't even any graphics at all! But oddly, next thing you know, I was playing and playing and playing. No surprise unavoidable deaths (so far); seeming like a reasonable length; I liked how terse yet descriptive the text was; I like that it was comedic but fast-moving. It was reminding me of that classic text adventure feel I had where your goal was to accumulate 100/100 points and that's reported to you, and the early 80s text adventure trend of certain weapons being used for certain enemies you come across (instead of tacky RNG-based random deaths).

Feel: 8/10 I love the Alice in Wonderland universe and this managed to incorporate all the critical elements in a whole new format. It may be hard for text adventures to keep taking 5 stars and Favorites at this point in 87, if …

Feel: 8/10 I love the Alice in Wonderland universe and this managed to incorporate all the critical elements in a whole new format. It may be hard for text adventures to keep taking 5 stars and Favorites at this point in 87, if only there were some spectacular graphics to accompany the scenes but perhaps they would've just dragged it down. As it is, this has a great straightforward fun Feel to it and glad it refreshened my interest in text adventures again: I won't just expect to playtest them briefly in 1987! I suppose genres always find a way to stay fresh enough!

Attachment: 8/10 Short sweet and to the point. Some cool far-out aspects, but mostly just stayed focused on that classic tried-and-true text adventure format. Some people criticized the game for that, but I like that. If I return to 1987 text adventures, which isn't the most likely but still, this one should be on the list!
