Mr. Driller is a great action puzzle-ish arcadey game, and Drill Land adds several clever new modes to play it in. For those unfamiliar, Mr. Driller simply has you drilling down through colorful blocks, and as you go along loosened blocks above you will fall and you'll have to avoid being crushed by them. You also need to watch your air gauge -- pick up air containers as you descend, or suffocate to death. It's frantic fun for the whole family!

Drill Land was a Japan-only Gamecube game, but Namco was wise enough to have the Switch release worldwide. Very cool to get old games made available in English at long last, and to see any games from this particular era make a comeback at all. The menus in this are really nostalgic, just take me right back to my good 'ol Dreamcast gaming days...

The new modes in Drill Land are great, and offer some much-needed variety to the basic drilling formula. Various obstacles to deal with and power-ups to utilize really spice things up. One mode that particularly stands out turns the game into a sort of exploration RPG full of enemies and items to use -- it's tough at first, but really cool once you get the hang of it all. I recommend everyone get this if you've got a Switch and like these sorts of quick pick-up-and-play titles! And hopefully it can get released on other consoles too, like Namco recently did with Katamari (also a must-buy BTW!).
