Having played through the Heart's Medicine series, I find Detective Jackie to be a functional progression with features given and taken. You work as the titular detective with a tragic past, who gets on a murder case around a teenage girl. As the story progresses, you're uncovering parts of a grand scheme involving Greek mythology, a cult and mysterious powers that lie closer than you realize.
The actual gameplay in the levels have been slightly redefined, moving not only your character to fulfill clients' requests but you will also move the clients to their desired position to perform their tasks. I enjoyed playing through the game on hard difficulty, putting my multi-tasking management to the test while scoring all the stars. The point system is a welcome addition as well, allowing players to spend points, earned through missions and cumulative accomplishments, to improve your abilities and stage performance.
There are some graphic improvements on this crime-themed, time management game but other than smooth model animations with 3D factors, there's not much new in that department.
Detective Jackie is a continuation of the time management franchise that GameHouse provides, with intuitive improvements and an incredulous but passable crime detective story to boot.
