Cool design ruined by grinding and bad UI

While i believe the game doesn't have lasting value, it sure is a worthwhile experience. The art is amazing, it probably has the most unique enemies i've ever fought and i love the variety in ship equipment. If only they hadn't gone with what is essentially a clumsy menu ("platforming" bit). And if only getting new upgrades didn't require a crazy amount of grinding. And there was some sort of more gradual level selection. Oh well.
