Tho the remake was worth it for how beautiful these wireframe graphics are,
in a game that begged for some more visual experimentation, the reality is, the gameplay--like the original--is just too slow and sluggish to be worth replaying in a new context. I have a lot of respect for both games, but not worth dealing with all the headaches of the clever, brilliant game again.
Sound: 4/10 Still annoying heh. And less witty/clever-feeling when it is good ha.
Play: 6/10 You'd think with 2 years, technology would be a bit faster heh. But it felt just as slow and sluggish. And tho it was certainly prettier, I somehow oddly felt I'd rather be playing the original. Maybe it's the nostalgia factor.
Feel: 7/10 Indeed, that's my biggest takeaway. I almost didn't write a review, because I don't like to write short ones but: just play the original if you're reading this and are interesting in the experimental, meta gameplay and dialogue. It's definitely worth a playthrough at some point for any gamer (tho I'd highly recommend a guide to reference ha). The colors did add a lot to the game, but meh, moving on.
Attachment: 7/10 Definitely one I wont forget, and who knows, this might actually be the version I show my brothers etc since the colors are nice. Nevertheless, for me personally, I felt the first one was sufficient after playing this--a little disappointed tbh!
