The object is to navigate a virtual snake through an enclosed maze, while consuming dots along the way. The length of the snake increases with each object consumed, making the game more difficult. The player must also avoid colliding with walls or obstacles, and must also avoid colliding with the snake's own body sections. After all the objects on the screen have been eaten, the player progresses to the next wave, involving harder obstacles and/or higher game speeds.

Just like with the original/arcade Nibbler, I wish the gameplay matched the controls better, I didn't like having to so quickly click left to turn it. Maybe I'm missing something. I definitely would put this and the original as good as Pac-Man if not better, if the controls were a bit more manageable cuz I really liked when I was able to hit the turns and plan out my snake route. All that said, this is an impressive port: feels just like the original in so many ways--and even sounds like it! Plus, there's a reasonable amount of levels for this one! (tho arcade Nibbler fans would likely bemoan there's only 10 levels, I like that). As it is, this and the arcade original are just too fast-paced to be fully playable, which stinks cuz I really like how they made the maps and the gameplay besides the insanely fast pace.

This was not a great score lol enter image description here

But I did like this game more than I expected. Snake games have never been a favorite of mine, tho it was nice how they were on calculators, early mobile phones, etc. as just a convenience. This was is really good, and at first I was thinking I consider it better than Pac-Man! But Wave 4 and on, it started feeling tedious. I liked the Pac-Man style maps like Wave 4, not the annoying grid/close-them-in-a-box-shape-game maps. The sounds were quite annoying; the auto-turn on corners was annoying, though I'm sure useful for good players; and the gameplay was so fast! Like, I felt like the challenge was managing to change direction fast enough more than plan out how to collect everything without circling on yourself. I wish you could press and hold the direction you want to go before a turn comes up, like in Pac Man. Instead, here it seems u have to press the direction precisely as you pass the turn -- no sooner, no later. If it weren't for that overly fast pace to controls, or if there were spectacular Look or Sound, this would be worth more than 4 …

If it weren't for that overly fast pace to controls, or if there were spectacular Look or Sound, this would be worth more than 4 Waves then moving on. But as it is, important historically, technically one of the best early snake games imo, but most likely not something I will return to.
