Shining force style srpg, you traverse towns and battles are fought on tactical grid outside of them. Uniquely doesn't have missions, but you fight on the world map as you travel between towns. Sluggish UI. Didn't notice the translation was (very!) partial, only translating first hour of so, so dropped it.
