Beat on the Hardest difficulty. I tried out both characters and decided on the guy with the assault rifle because automatic fire is better than the semi auto of the other guy. The shooting was fun, especially the gore and how most enemies have a secondary downed form. I liked how the enemies were not bullet sponges, instead they hit quite hard and can shoot from tricky angles. I did not figure out how to aim until the 1st boss, which fixed the major flaw I was having with the game. I found the best strategy to be shooting from the enemy's blind spots, or one shotting them with rockets if they were in a difficult position. The basic gun enemies could shoot at several angles and were best fought from below (ducking under shots while on slightly lower terrain, jump shooting to their platform, or shooting straight up). Fighting them on level ground runs the risk of getting shot, and then the best way to deal with their headless form is to jump in and punch them. The hanging enemies were best killed at distance while jumping as they can hit multiple downward angles. The grenade launcher enemies were …

The hanging enemies were best killed at distance while jumping as they can hit multiple downward angles. The grenade launcher enemies were a lot like the regular enemies, only the grenades could bounce and hit from a tricky angle sometimes. Again best killed from below and jump into melee to finish the downed form. There should have been a much larger variety of enemies. The bosses had very specific move patterns while only being vulnerable at certain times, so it took a few tries to figure out. After a bit of practice I was able to kill the 3 bosses without losing a life. The final boss was incredibly difficult though. I did beat him on the 1st try but it cost most of the lives I had accumulated. But that is what lives are for. Some of the platforming was annoying. Probably the worst part of the game was the waterfall in the 1st level where you had to use enemy corpses as platforms, and they only lasted a limited time. Too many instant death pits. Satisfying gameplay but it needed more of everything; more levels, enemies, weapons etc. Might play again as the other guy.
