Completed the game. It was fun but too much of a grind to get the money to get a maxed out car. Had to do the same race over and over.

When I had a maxed out car I finished all races in one sitting and it was pretty easy but fun. Sound and design were the best part of the game.

2/5 because of too much grind and too easy.

Notes: Okay, this game has amazing aesthetics. The 2D sprite style is easily the best I've ever seen for games that try to recapture OutRun's spirit (not counting Horizon Chase Turbo, that game is a 3D game), and the 80s themed paired soundtrack really captures the mood (also random note, check out Wolf and Raven's A Tribute to Outrun). That's all the good thing there is about the game though.

The game just isn't fun to play in the long run. Your starting car feels like 1/4th the speed of OutRun on tracks that are 4x longer! The game's difficulty is also penalizing. One crash and you'd have to restart the race, but that also leads to you having to spend more money for repairs / fuel so you end up having to grind earlier races! The police cars are only there to piss you further, as they don't follow the AI.

The first 30 minutes of the game is all you need to play, as the rest is about the same. The environments will start to repeat and the future tracks will look just as same as the ones you played …

I just lost interest easily, and I don't see myself returning to this game when I could just play OutRun on the same consoles.
