Clunky, But Fun Frogger-Style Game. Oddly Adventure International, Too
This review is for the Atari 8-bit version

Look: 9/10 Wow what an absurd but beautiful title screen. enter image description here

Wait, but then it became this title screen? lol k. enter image description here

Anyway, the font is really great in the UI: enter image description here

Sound: 8/10 Usually I don't care for funerary music playing when you die, but the Atari crunch is just right in this game. All the sounds are excellent in it. I really like the music that plays during gameplay, though can't claim I was emotionally moved like with Phoenix or strikingly good like with the Atari Superman.

Play: 6/10 I'm just not a big fan of Frogger gameplay. As slow and clucky as this is, I kinda prefer this to Frogger--just because of its absurdity and, well, really that's the only reason why. The jump control is so poorly done lol, oh microcomputer games. Nonetheless, I oddly had fun getting past the first couple levels on this heh. Everything just moves too slowly, like with the TRS-80, to be a truly fun arcade style game though. Even tho I enjoyed this a decent amount, probly stick with arcade Frogger if you're looking for that gameplay ha.

Feel: 8/10 enter image description here Lol "So, why go slumming with lesser simulations? You'll be the toast of the country club with PREPPIE!" also "fashion-conscious gamester" nice loll. (From the booklet available from Atarimania of course) I'm surprised this is an Adventure International release, but I suppose the imaginative manual/insert shows that a bit heh. Jumping from boat to boat is actually quite fun, albeit clunky as heck.

Attachment: 6/10 As surprisingly fun as it was, and how funny the manual/insert was, I can't claim I will probly ever actually replay this lol. Not a big fan of Frogger etc.
