Beat on NES using a walkthrough after getting to the roof on my own then having no idea where to go next. This game sucked and I barely tolerated beating it. No way would I play it without save states. Needed slow motion too. The only redeeming aspect of this game was the open world, I guess. Otherwise it was a collectathon platformer with no offense other than jumping on top of enemies Mario style. The biggest flaw was the difficulty, with difficult jumps, nearly impossible to avoid hazards, and cheap traps. Why are there so many rooms that force you to react immediately upon entering to avoid damage. Despite save stating every 5 seconds I consistently lost hp and lives, even having to use a continue. No idea how many continues were available but there was no penalty that I seen. I found like 2 lousy health pickups in the entire game. There should have been an infinite healing room and/or health pickups randomly dropped from enemies. The under water area was among the worst gaming I have ever experienced. In order to move up or forward you had to mash the swim button, and even holding town turbo …
