Update 12/17/25

Just finished a replay on hard mode. GOD this game is so good. I don't know what more I can say, its a perfect game to me. In the kinda niche survival horror genre of super rudimentary/silly/low-poly PSX inspired survival horror, like Nightmare of Decay, One Last Toast, Hope is Gone, Flesh Made Fear... But the map alone makes this my favorite. PLAY IT

Wow I adore this game. Dead Beacon is a psx style first-person survival horror game heavily inspired by Resident Evil. It takes place in a mansion on a cursed island and has all the hallmarks of the genre.

I can’t state enough how much I enjoyed this game, it is like it was designed to perfectly match with every neuron in my brain. The exploration, puzzles, combat, everything is just so dang fun and satisfying. Not to mention the absolutely killer map - you can write text, draw, and place custom markers on it! I loved this feature and it made the slow progress of exploring the mansion so satisfying.

It is just everything I love about the genre perfectly executed. The dev seems to have moved on to other genres since this game, but I’m praying they will return because this is an all time favorite for me.
