An evil planet named Meteo is sending storms of world-ending meteors across the galaxy, and only your puzzle skills can stop them. As blocks drop down on the lower screen, you must use the DS's stylus to match up blocks of the same color. Once you have enough blocks connected, they'll shoot back into the sky to form planets on the upper screen.

Tetris... IN SPAAAAAAAAAAAACE
This review is for the Nintendo DS version

(This was retro game club game #16 on the Grouvee forum.)

This is a falling-block tile-matching puzzle game, comparable to things like Tetris, Puyo Puyo, Panel de Pon, Magical Drop, and Lumines. In Meteos you use the DS stylus to quickly shuffle blocks around, and match them together (Bejeweled-style) to make those blocks -- and the ones above in tow -- launch off the screen. Pretty simple concept, but it works and makes for a solid way to kill a few minutes on your handheld when in the mood.

There are a few different modes to mess around in, and plenty of options to allow you to set up a game how you'd like. On the downside of things, I think the general presentation for this one isn't great. Some stages are very unappealing to look at or listen to, and overall it just doesn't have the same level of style and polish as something like Lumines (same producer).

So not a bad game, but it never hooked me the same way lots of other games of this genre have. It's worth a shot at least, and is still really cheap to get.
