So mediocre, made me sad. But then, that's Ubi

I'd expect more from a big corporation like Ubisoft.

Fighting mechanics are extremely arcare-ish. Zero weapon physics. But even in arcade fighting style "Until you fall" does it way better than this.

Fighting mechanics are extremely arcare-ish. Zero weapon physics. But even in arcade fighting style "Until you fall" does it way better than this.

Parkour is mostly automated: you just hold A + left stick forward. It worked on consoles, yes, but in VR I want to actually move. There is a cool proof-of-concept parkour game "Stride" and while it has little content running there feels great. There you swing hands to run, can grab ledges flawlessly and just go with the flow. In AC:Nexus, you just stand there most of the time, and only move your hands when you need to go vertical. And even then, the grabbing often fails, if you try to lunge up.

Finally, the tutorials and story. It's infuriating. They just block you in a small zone or completely still and talk, talk, talk. Then you play for 10 minutes and the cycle repeats. Goddamit, let me learn via playing. I feel treated like a 6 y.o.

All in all, I'd rather recommend you try:

  • For realistic physics of melee fighting: Bonelab or Blade and Sorcery
  • For stealth: Budget Cuts
  • For parkour: Stride
  • For arcade sword action, and a good workout: Until you fall

I don't know how can this impress those who played more than 2 VR games before. It's just very sloppy and I'm surprised with so many good reviews about it.

Refunded.

Classic AC in VR, no more, no less

It took me a while to finally finish it. I kept thinking I was almost done but it kept going. (16 "missions", by the by)

I was really into it at first because it felt like a classic experience but really smartly translated. I think it cooled on it as it dragged on and I was not into their ending choice.

I feel like the development followed my enthusiasm. The cutscenes seem to get lazier and the transitions worse as the game went on. As if they were rushed or out of time.
