I drew this 11 years ago, apparently, for my friend Molly - known online as Momento Morie. Seeing this again kinda hit me in the feels, because Molly vanished off the face of the Earth a few years ago, and I have no idea what happened to her. >: She had been through a handful of abusive relationships, faced continued harassment from an ex, and last I heard, she moved to Arizona with a new husband and... That's it. She deleted the accounts I knew her on, and poof.
I truly hope she's okay, and thriving. I hope it was done to escape that shitty stalker ex. She was a kind-hearted, intelligent friend, and I miss catching up with her every few months.
And real talk, if you see a friend in an abusive relationship, or you see the signs, anything... Intervene. Be a support. Don't let abusers get away with anything. Make it impossible for them to take advantage of good people. Normalize calling out controlling and manipulative behaviours. Be there for survivors.
