This game is quite unlike any I've ever played. I didn't think it was possible to innovate in the "walking sim horror" type genre, and yet here this game is. It's extremely surreal, told with a very viscerally unique artstyle of highly pixelated environments but with FMV character hands that interact with the world. That artstyle is the highlight of the experience.

The game doesn't contain really a single spoken or written word, it tells its story entirely through the visual design and gameplay, and presumably metaphor. I think it is one worth experiencing, even though I have no idea what the heck the story means after playing and finishing the game in its 3-4 hour playthrough.

The horror here contains no jump scares, it's more of a psychological and cosmic or metaphorical horror. This isn't a game everyone will like. It's hard to say the game is fun, it asks the player to feel actively uncomfortable while playing it, due to the interactions and scenes within. It's probably the most effectively I've ever had a game make me feel psychologically discomforted. And yet, I still felt very compelled to continue, finding the light "puzzles" to be very rewarding, with the most simple goal of all, to continue walking forward however possible.

The only way in which the game stumbles in my opinion is that some of the puzzles are rather obtuse, which is fine on its own and likely intentional (and plus we all have the internet, we can google where to go if we get stuck), however some of the later "platforming" puzzles can get rather frustrating due to the clunkiness of the jump. But maybe that was intended too, who knows. The character walks at an extremely slow pace, which could be a negative for some, though, I didn't mind because you can take in the scenery.

In summary, I don't know what that was, but if you like super weird horror things you will like it.

PS (spoiler?) There's a cat you can pet.

👍

Nice little surrealist (body) horror walking sim. What stands out most are the gorgeous graphics.

(I get that it's supposed to be slow, but a run button would've been appreciated nonetheless.)

Worth your 3 hours

Such an insane walking simulator. Probably the most engrossed ive felt in one. The lack of collectibles felt jarring - my brain kept telling me to keep looking around corners when the point was to just. move. forward. weird but great sensation

This game does so much with action over words. I was terrified but there wasnt really a jump scare, more constant dread and terror Convinced these 2-4 hour games are the perfect length for a ~10 dollar experience
