Have a smashing good time! When you're bugged by nasty pests, it's time to call Kernal Kleanup, the familiar character from Western Exterminator. Ronnie, the super rat, and his friends are pushing for a hostile takeover and their territories cover Houses, Office Buildings, Warehouses, Hotels, Swamps, and even the Moon. Watch out bugs, PESTERMINATOR has a big surprise waiting for you!

YoungsterGlenn's review of Pesterminator: The Western Exterminator

I originally was gonna rate this 1/5, but then I played Fist of the North Star (1989), and that game was even worse. The main objective of the game is just to kill all the bugs in every level. The game has the same shitty controls that many bad NES games do, but fortunately the platforming is very lenient, with generous hitboxes on the platforms, so in the end it's pretty forgiving.

Level ratings:

Levels 1-2: Pretty dull but easy. Confusing how bugs randomly respawn.

Level 3: More platforming. Mostly a more enjoyable level, but some jumps onto small platforms with bugs (lobsters) are really awful. One particular one is almost impossible without clever damage boosting.

Level 4: Mostly a repeat of level 1 except somehow less tedious. Again, some bugs are nearly impossible to kill, this time due to a glitch.

Level 5: Strange helicopter level. Sort of fun but very annoying insect swarm enemies.

Level 6: Repeat of level 3 but harder.

Level 7: Underwater level. Somehow the by far best level in the game.

Level 8-1: Moon level. Terrible terrible level.

Level 8-2: Super confusing moon base level with doors that don't make sense. Very tedious. Quite …
