Developed by AKI Corporation, whose previous experience in the genre includes titles WWF No Mercy and WCW/NWO Revenge, Def Jam Vendetta offers an estimated 1,500 animations for each of the 45 included characters. A total of ten different venues are available, and one of the featured modes offers a storyline complete with soap opera-style drama to go along with the suplexes and body slams. Def Jam: Vendetta laid the ground work for a series that in my opinion would peak in its sequel and heavily decline thereafter, but we'll get there. Def Jam: Vendetta laid the ground work for a series that in my opinion would peak in its sequel and heavily decline thereafter, but we'll get there. Vendetta couldn't have come out at a more perfect time personally, with me just getting in to hip hop and fighting games and all that cool shit. Needless to say the soundtrack is amazing and the environments and characters are all on brand, even if only 12 out of the 44 fighters/wrestlers are actual real life rappers.
