Saw Instazone's review, so thought I'd do my own.

Terrible, terrible Zelda II rip off.

You'd think it wouldn't be hard to make a Rambo game for the NES. Actually, there already is one, with a different name (Contra).

When I think Rambo, I think of Sylvester Stallone mowing down bad guys with machine guns, flaming bow and arrows or grenades. In this, you basically run in a loop in a jungle, fighting animals with a knife.

The N/S direction mechanic is just headache inducing.

The story choices are stupid. It makes it look like you have a "choice," but you don't. Until you pick the "right" choice, it'll just repeat. Why have these elements at all if the choices don't matter?

So yeah, you end up with a crappy Zelda II rip off.

I'll give it one additional star for the excellent beginning theme song and the last 5-10 minutes of the game, where you get good weapons and actually play a game somewhat like Contra.

However, if you have an NES and want to play Contra, skip Rambo and play Contra.
