These gacha games are starting to annoy me.

There are so many of them that I have started. There are so many of them that I enjoy, including this one. But they just can't get out of their own way. This game has wonderful battles. You are swiping to dodge and attack and button pressing to defend. It is my favorite gacha battle system since FF Opera Omnia. I enjoy the story and the characters and I wanted to see them grow together. I enjoyed how they where fusing worlds and trying to make sense of the bad guys joining your team. It was all really well done.

But it just couldn't get out of its own way.

It drives me nuts that the game is basically just one huge grind fest. I don't even mind grinding that much, but it isn't like I get to run around and level up at all. I just click the button and I am in the same battle that I just got done doing. Oh skip tickets? Oh great. So I'm not even really playing the game then I'm just managing the equipment. And equipment to get stronger I basically have to draw. Which is mostly fine as they are moderately generous with the gems initially, but I'm also scared that later it will become obsolete and I'll have to spend money.

And I don't mind spending money. You made a game. You polished it up. You created this thing, but I don't want to have to give you money in perpetuity. That sounds awful. I want to pay for the game and play it. If it's going to be free to play I should be able to beat the game.

Maybe I just don't fully understand how these types of games are supposed to work.

I'll definitely be playing one again someday, but it'll probably just end in frustration again.

tl;dr: This game was a lot of fun and I would have gladly sunk more hours into it if I didn't feel like I wasn't making progress if I missed playing for one day.
