Coming fresh from mainframe RPGs, namely PLATO RPGs, these are just rough. This one is the best yet, though, compared to say, Dunjonquests. But still, they all feel rough with their limitations and sluggishness.
Look: 6/10 Not big into the early microcomputer looks, as compared to early console or early wireframe graphics.
Play: 7/10 As always, the manual helps https://archive.org/details/vgmuseum_firstera_dungeonofdeath/page/n5/mode/2up Another simplistic early CRPG. I like its simplicity, and I don't mind the little minimap in the bottom right corner, but just wanna get to where the mainframe computer RPGs were.
Feel: 7/10 Just couldn't fully click with it, even though it had a lot of my favorite RPG features in it. I wanna give it an earnest try some day. I like that there's a set goal, but definitely takes after the convoluted, later PLATO RPGs.
Attachment: 7/10 I will likely be replaying this to give it an earnest try.
