Alzadick is a vertical shooter released for the Summer Carnival '92 competition hosted by Naxat Soft. While it was made available for commercial release it was originally programmed as a time attack challenge for 'athletes' to earn as many points as they could in the few minutes of competittion. While the game is not long, it features stunning visuals, processing effects and a rather impressive soundtrack.

Good design and, I like the Caravan approach

Fun, short but sweet. This was my first game like this and now having played it I wonder which of the Summer Carnival's or Caravan's is the best. One of the few things i've played in a while that I found some satisfaction in getting a bit better at. Alzadick has a suprising amount of variety for a short-lived time attack challenge. You have four ship styles and there are slight variations in your weapon patterns depending on which game mode (there's two maps and each seems dedicated to a certain mode)enter image description here i wasn't really sure how time attack mode worked) Beginner Attack (aka 14th Planet) was my favorite of the two, however 'Score Attack Mode (aka battle of valder) has quite a bit of enemey variations and nice visuals. it's also a bit more challenging. This is a great game, very approachable and not demanding of skill or time. I liked 'strike form' pattern and A type or D type weapon upgrades. This is the perfect kinda game to play on your lunchbreak amongst coworkers or something like that for a little competition. enter image description hereThink you can beat me? I managed to squeeze a few hundred points out to rake in a GT of 208200 on Beginner, and 308800 on Score attack. If you like Shmups you should fire up the mednafens and give this pervy sounding 92 classic a shot. The music alone makes it worth it. Often is with PCE. enter image description here
