Completed on Easy difficulty, emulator, no savestates. The game looks good, music is great and the weapon loadouts are interesting, added to the ability to dominate some of the enemies and keep them as a secondary attack of sorts.

My main issue with Scrambled Valkyrie is the health bar/continue system where you have to play extremely boring parts where nothing happens over and over again until you memorize the stages, but I guess that happens in many horizontal shooters like this one.

Beat on normal as the first character. I mostly used the standard ship mode due to its wide laser. The rom I played was unknowingly hacked to have god mode on so there was no challenge whatsoever; I still tried to pretend that I could die though. Fairly standard game with the most interesting aspect being the ability to switch between 3 different forms (each with a different weapon) on the fly. Each form seems to have different speed (ship is fastest) and there is choice in how to power up the weapons depending on which form you are in when you pick them up. Hard to judge how difficult it is without the ability to die. I did try out the normal rom and noticed there is a sizeable health bar instead of one hit deaths; so I am guessing not excessively difficult. Might try the normal rom at some point later.
