It sold one million copies in its first eighteen days of release, 2.5 million over the first six weeks, and ultimately 5 million copies. First released in May 2003, the same month as The Matrix Reloaded, Enter the Matrix was simultaneously produced with The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions. When I was a child I was drooling over Matrix action and played Enter the Matrix. My initial impression was disappointing. Where is the Neo? Who are this guys? Gameplay is boring. Fast forward to late 2021, I started to watch/play/read every Matrix product before Matrix Resurrections. Playing this game again, it's still boring as hell. However it made me realize this game was ambitious in story aspect. In 2003, they released The Animatrix, Enter the Matrix, Matrix Reloaded and Matrix Revolutions. They are all connected. For example "Final Flight of the Osiris" from The Animatrix happens, then Enter the Matrix starts where it left off, then it connects with Matrix Reloaded beginning. They made live-action cutscenes with quality on par with actual movies. You can play (or watch cutscenes from youtube) this game if you are binge watching Matrix series but I do not recommend just playing this game.

I beat this game long ago, probably 2004, on my tiny tv in my tiny university dorm room. This was my cousin's game that I got a loan of. I only vaguely remember it. I do remember how cool it was to flip around and do fancy matrix bullet dodging moves but not much else. It was a reasonably enjoyable experience that I give in the range of 6.5 to 7 out of 10.
