Zanac Neo takes the gameplay of Zanac and brings it up to the 32bit standard of the era, and it still looks great so many years later. Awesome explosion effects, smooth animations and an action packed soundtrack, what could you want more? This game also adds a choice of 3 different ships with slightly different powerups, and while they aren't extremely different it still gives a reason to go back and try the game again with a different ship. The fact that the disc also includes 3 versions of the original NES/Famicom Zanac is naturally a plus.

Disliked:

I hardly found anything I didn't like here. A small complaint would be on the original Zanac emulation the sprites aren't as crisp as on the original NES, and it lacks the Zanac EX version from the MSX.

Summary:

It's an amazing shmup and shows why Compile is such a legendary name in the Shooter genre. There are few games with that much action and that much fun with simple gameplay like that.
