Anyone here quit a job just to play games for a while?
Most people I know don't understand this idea, they don't get how much I enjoy playing games, they treat getting $$$ as the most important thing, followed by traveling (which I hate).
I just feel like quitting and spend 3-12 months just to rest, catch up on my gaming backlog, movies, books, sports and hobbies.
The job is ok, but 40 hours a week sitting in front of a pc with only 20 vacation days a year is too much even for a nerd like me. Lasted 2.5 years in one place, but now I'm struggling both mentally (too much of anything = boredom) and physically (neck pain etc.)
That's the worst part: my job conflicts with my biggest hobby: videogames. Because, while I wish to play more, I have to spend my limited free time on some physically active stuff like fitness, running and stretching, because I already sit too much...
It just feels dumb that there's no middle ground between full-time job and unemployment.
I'd gladly give up 30% of my salary to work 30% less.
To end on a positive note though: I've saved enough money to spend 2-3 years doing nothing before I run out.

Read moreThis incredibly charming VR title is really more of a tech-demo than a game, which means that it's fine for testing out VR and introducing it to your friends and family before you take those training wheels off and dive into more serious fare. Your character never moves so there's almost zero chance of getting VR sickness. I love the premise that robots in the future have attempted to recreate simulations of menial jobs that humans might have done long ago. The existential nightmare really comes to a head in the office level, which perfectly captures the sensation of chipping away at a never-ending Sisyphean task and wasting time while trying to look busy. Even weirder still, with the ongoing pandemic changing business practices forever, these cramped cubicle jobs may actually be a thing of the past, making this a genuine document of an actual bygone menial task, which is the joke/actual premise of this game. Too real, Job Simulator. Too real.

What a lovely introduction to VR
This game is an excellent introduction to the standing VR experience. I would catch it on sale because the experience, while fun the whole time is overall very short.
