1001 Games - #420

Pros: diverse soundtrack of latin & latin-inspired music, background visuals react to performance

Cons: unintuitive motion control system, questionable detection

Recommendation: I really did want to like this game, and I have no problem with the soundtrack selection, but the motion controls are quite poor. Instead of height detection, the Wii detects the angle of the Wiimote, which is really hard to maintain when you're shaking them around and focussing on the onscreen notes. Also, it requires precise tilts to detect cross-over poses, which were not exactly clear to me. While it seems possible to master the motion controls with much practice, it ruins the casual fun that the game promises.

*The actual entry in the 1001 Games book is for the Dreamcast version, but until I have a chance to try it, this version will stand in its place
