Lord of Magna: Maiden Heaven (2014)

This game has a very unique combat system. That, and its cute art, are the main selling points. However, they don't explain the combat well enough for you to get the hang of it, and because it's so unique (there's a sort of bowling/dominos mechanism to it), it's not really intuitive enough to just muddle through on your own.

The game is similar to Fire Emblem in that there is no free exploration. You have a home base you can wander around and talk to people in, but the entire game is triggering cutscenes that lead to battles (and frequently return to the same exact combat field multiple times).

So you have to either really love the combat or really love the story to enjoy the game. Unfortunately, the combat is hard to understand. There are status effects and abilities that have no in-game explanation whatsoever, just symbols over characters heads and obscure names. For example, you collect "buttons" off of certain enemies. There is a "topaz button" and a "yellow button," with tooltips that say "The bellybutton of a Stitch enemy" or "This character's favorite accessory!" And that's... all you get. One of them boosts your character's stats (which stats? don't know!) and the other is an attack. You don't know that until you use them, though. So it's just... very frustrating.

As for the story, there are a bunch of "fairies" - cute anime girls - who call you their "master." They are psychically linked to you, and their life force is literally tied in to your will. They can only grow and become stronger by building an affectionate relationship with you. So it's.... kind of disturbing. There's a harem anime vibe, but it's taken a step further where these girls literally will cease to be alive without you. Ehhh. Squicks me out. No thanks (especially since some of them look and sound decidedly underage).
