Prehistoric Eruption
This review is for the Nintendo Entertainment System version

Completed on emulator using savestates, 2 hours of gameplay.

I'm not sure if Surprise at Dinosaur Peak is better than Rescue of Dino & Hoppy. They deliver a similar experience, with only small differences.

The music is still a complete disappointment and the sport mini-game is back, this time even more annoying than in the previous game.

Now you can switch at will between Fred and Barney, the latter being equipped with a long-range attack. You also need to do some tricky mid-air character switch to reach higher platforms.

The second to last stage has a section where you need to run from a rolling rock that kills you in one hit. Just a tiny mistake here and you die. Yeah, not very fun. Other than that, the game is not that difficult.
