The design philosophy behind the title is simple -- rather than build the platformer around the main character, the software house opted instead to focus on the interactivity of the 3D environments he travels. To that end, Rocket employs an advanced physics engine which allows the main character, a lovable unicycle-based robot named Rocket, to travel and experiment with colorful, platform-esque worlds with realistic gravity and inertia. I was going to play SM64 like everyone else (one day I'll play that damn game), but I found this while rifling through my n64 cartridge shoebox so thought I would give it a shot.

It is pretty damn cool. Rocket is a slippery bastard, but the physics-based platforming is impressive, and there have been a couple of fun puzzles so far. The camera is atrocious, and the world is eye-bleedingly colorful. Still, it deserves more love than it gets, and would benefit from a remaster.
