Return of the Jedi: Death Star Battle is a Shoot 'em up video game published by Parker Brothers in 1983 for various Atari platforms and in 1984 for the Sinclair ZX Spectrum. It was the first released video game to be based on the movie Return of the Jedi. In the game, the player controls the Millennium Falcon with the aim of destroying the second Death Star. The game is split into two stages. In the first, the player must shoot enemy TIE fighters while waiting for an opportunity to pass through an energy shield. In the second stage, the player must shoot at parts of the Death Star until there is a clear path to the reactor. Once the reactor has been destroyed, the player must survive the resultant explosion. By far the best of the Star Wars games so far, probly cuz it's more so a classic shoot em up rather than experimenting with first person pseudo 3d or whatever the heck that one that was parodied in Attack of the Mutant Camels or w/e heh. I'm not a big Star Wars guy, so that probly doesn't help -- tho I recognize its huge influence, including on one of my favorite series (Final Fantasy) which people always joke like 3/4 of the plotlines are Star Wars with a twist lol. Anyway, I got to the actual Death Star screen and was doing decently, still 3 lives left and over 6k Score, but meh. Died during that part and had no desire to return. Not bad if you are into Star Wars or wanna play all early space shoot em ups.
