This game was pretty amazing. It’s just so short I can’t give it a higher rating.
You play as a man with no skin who wakes up in hell. You have to complete a series of classic point and click puzzles, pass judgement on other sinners, and find your way to a resolution.
The pixel art is amazing. Super bloody body horror, chunky pixels, it’s absolute eye candy. The puzzles are a lot of fun too, just challenging enough. Not an overload of dialogue either (unlike Carnival which ruined it for me). It’s just a perfect horror game.
I wish it was like 20x the length, but still - totally worth playing.
I like the fact that game development seems so readily available for everyone, since I get to pry into the minds of small developers.
In this case, we hace The Flayed Man, a short point-n-click game about a sort of awful afterlife where you get judged for your actions. I like how it handles the concept of forgiveness and crimes. Which crimes deserve an infinite punishment like being condemned for all eternity? At the end of the day, infinite punishment for a finite crime seems unfair.
Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but I enjoyed it. Be wary that it's only like 40 minutes long, maybe an hour or two if you are looking for the achievements.
