Nexzr is a vertically scrolling shooter. IT doesnt really boast much for a PC-CD game, and i'm a bit disappointed TBH. The Naxat SHMUPS i've so far played have been really strong and are some of my favorites, but I really didnt like this one much. I feel that it has a lot of problems. The music is pretty good and is what you'd want to expect from a PC-CD game. Bullets arent the easiest to see but its not too bad. The trouble is the weapons just suck in this game. All of them. You get single swaps and can't boost upgrades by getting the same kind (gradius style) and its tough to say whats best. Bosses also really suck in this game and are really boring and mechanical and overall uninteresting. The game looks OK but it doesn't shine. To it's credit however, it doesnt slow down or glitch anywhere in the game. Not a single time. It's too bad that the game is a bit painfully average and oh, yeah it's also pretty hard and not possible to beat without an emulator. You know the drill.

Being a PC_CD game you get anime style cutscenes with japanese dub voicing. Who knows what they are saying. The story is probably so generic it doesnt even matter. Jump into ship,. shoot aliens. save earth. You get the idea.
I'd actually been saving this game to play at some point because it was the latest 1993 version of 'Summer carnival caravan' challenge games. I really do love this series and was so curious what it had to offer. Well, it does offer new levels, bosses, etc. in caravan mode, however, it isn't amazing and doesn't feel as inspired as the first two in the series. The caravan version of the game is arguably superior though because it also sports the original game too minus intro cutscenes.
Either way you aren't missing much not playing this whether you're just a SHMUP researcher or enjoy Caravan STGs
