Beat on hardest difficulty as Angus the soldier. He was the most visually appealing and I was impressed that he had a ranged attack. I then tried out the other characters and was impressed how each played differently. Back to Angus, his ranged attack was extremely weak, and every 3rd shot was a grenade throw which was not that useful. I could shoot twice, pause, and shoot again to skip the grenade. The grenade worked well at long range. The rocket launcher was an absolute beast, until I noticed it cost health and stopped using it. I never found the kick or jump kick to be useful. I found myself shooting from range, using a shot just before the enemy closes in to stun them before I go in for punches. Tried out 3 weapons; the hockey stick was worse than punching, the shuriken was fast and knocked down in 1 hit but did low damage, the flamethrower was a slower more damaging version of the shuriken. Hard to say which was better. After a couple stages the game taught me about the special moves. Angus turns invisible at no cost and this pretty much breaks to game to the …

Tried out 3 weapons; the hockey stick was worse than punching, the shuriken was fast and knocked down in 1 hit but did low damage, the flamethrower was a slower more damaging version of the shuriken. Hard to say which was better. After a couple stages the game taught me about the special moves. Angus turns invisible at no cost and this pretty much breaks to game to the point where it feels like cheating. The input was not hard and I found grabbing followed by a head butt to be the most effective. But it was a bit unreliable if he would grab so I often resorted to punches. The main challenge was making sure I had an opening to put the stealth back on because it did not last long. I noticed it lasted less in outdoor stages. And I learned the ultimate keyboard attack, but found it difficult to pull off; I failed it more often than not but it came in handy as a way to do cheap high damage in boss fights.

The cheesy 90s cartoon story and stupid looking trolls aside, the game is a solid beat em up.
