Jones On Fire is a running game, which is a platformer where you only jump/slide to dodge/grab objects. It's completely unremarkable, from the graphics to the music to the gameplay. They decided that instead of introducing boosts/abilities naturally instead you have to excessively grind for them, playing the same maps over and over and over again. No thanks.
A rather poorly executed runner with simplistic graphic and nauseating camera work.
In this games you play as a cute, square looking firefighter and your job is to rescue low poly kittens. You run around a burning wood, jumping and sliding and "collecting" the cats. Each run gives you some money you can exchange for some upgrades. Additionally you can perform certain missions i.e. rescue X amount of cats, do 10 jumps and so on. And that is practically the game.
I don't mind the graphics, they're simple but have their own style. However the camera has a nasty tendency to jump around causing my eyes to hurt. It's so bad that I can't play the game in full screen. It's a bit better in a phone like format but it's still annoying.
The sound is simplistic and the single track I've encountered while game fitting gets on your nerves quickly.
The game loop is not that fun. You just jump and slide, and collect cats. A rather boring experience - didn't even feel like completing the chalanges and buying upgrades due to rather clumsy UI.
Overall - I was done with it after half an hour over two attempts. …
